The Hotel de Banville
The Hotel de Banville occupies a prominent place in a peaceful district not far from the Champs Elysées, the Parc Monceau and the Ternes district, one of the most chic in Paris. Built in 1927 by the architect J. BELLAT in the purest art deco style.
This district in the 17th “arrondissement” is remarkable for its squares, gardens and its characteristic and renowned markets like the flower market of the Place des Ternes or the traditional one in the Rue Poncelet. It’s also not far from the Rue de Courcelles, the celebrated street of the “shopping addicts” or from the Champs Elysées, which gives it a special atmosphere where you can feel the heart of Paris beating. It is well served by public transport, the Palais des Congrès and the Espace Champerret are close by and there are famous theatres and restaurants. Thanks to this, a cosmopolitan population of businessmen, Parisian residents and international tourists meet, discuss and live together there.
Reception - Bar
The materials have been carefully chosen to give volumes of light and warmth...
The soul of the salon expresses itself in the piano, the fire and the antique pictures.
Not far from the Arc de Triomphe and the Palais des Congrès, the Hotel de Banville, which has been entirely redecorated, today combines the charm of a ‘30s building with a decidedly top-class design.
The corridors and the staircase of the Hotel de Banville put the accent on sobriety and elegance. In harmony with the architecture of the ‘30s, the walls in Paris stone, the marble and the highly decorative black balustrade have now been enhanced with the deep red of the bedroom doors and the linen gauze at the windows. A crowning detail: the surprising floor lighting which picks out the number of the bedroom engraved in a door-sill of sanded glass.
One thursday evening per month, around the piano and the fire, the hall is transformed into a place full of beautiful notes and warm moments.
Marianne Day (alias Marianne LAMBERT ) , the present owner of the hotel, who is passionate about music and singing, organises evenings of Jazz and the great classics in the French repertory, accompanied by her pianist Franck Monbaylet.

A friend of Rimbaud, Verlaine, Baudelaire and Hugo, the poet Théodore de Banville gave his name to one of the most romantic hotels in the capital. Built in 1927 in the purest art deco style by the architect Jérôme Bellat, it was acquired in 1967 by the family of Marianne Lambert, the present owner and director. Since then, three generations have succeeded each other, bringing with enthusiasm their love of the beautiful and the authentic and of welcoming people. Marianne has re-designed the hotel with the help of her husband, the architect Laurent Moreau, starting a new chapter in the history of the Hotel de Banville.
